CHAPTER 1 TO KNOW GOD

God loves you and wants to be your friend. Did you know that you can know God and Jesus personally? That is why God sent Jesus to die on the cross. When you ask Jesus to come in your heart and wash away your sins, he and his Father come into your heart to live.
That's just like meeting new friends! You spend time with Jesus to become his close friend. How do you make friends? You talk together, go to school together, and play together. Jesus wants to do those things with you because he loyes you so much. You are very special to him. When you spend time with Jesus, you will get to know what he is like and you will be a close friend to him. He wants to be your best friend if you will let him.
The Bible says we can know and understand God (Jeremiah 9:23, 24). That is a promise God has made for all his children. God is in heaven, but he is also in your heart at the same time. You are special to God and he wants you to know him and be his friend.
